Message from the SIM President

On behalf of the SIM Executive Board and our Chapter Leaders, we are very pleased to have established an alliance with MISQE that provides benefit to our members as well as the IT profession. SIM is a community of thought leaders with a mission to share experiences and rich intellectual capital that can be applied in our profession. This matches very well with the mission of MISQE to provide insightful articles substantiated by solid field research and written for the practitioner audience. An alliance requires mutually supportive dependencies. In this case, SIM provides funding for a substantial portion of the out-of-pocket expenses for publication. SIM also provides editorial advice on selection of articles and topics of interest. Most importantly, SIM provides the primary target audience for this journal: an active network of senior IT leaders. MISQE provides the vehicle for submission of candidate articles, a very talented and dedicated editorial staff to select and improve upon the relevance and rigor of the submissions, and the services for publication and distribution. Both SIM and MISQE are not-for-profit organizations depending heavily upon volunteer energy. To our SIM members, we are very pleased to be offering you this publication electronically without charge. We will be asking you for your feedback on the value of MISQE as a whole and on your successful application of the learnings from the articles.
